The Columbia Eye Surgery Center announces the introduction of the unparalleled precision and accuracy of the Alcon LenSx femtosecond laser to cataract surgery. The surgical laser utilizes bladeless technology, and brings the most advanced cataract and premium lens procedures available to patients in the Midlands.
This technology allows the surgeon to perform certain key steps within cataract surgery with a laser rather than a blade. Additionally, the laser provides an extremely detailed image of the eye. Since each eye is different with regards to the thickness, curvature and depth of its structures, the surgeon can use this information to plan your surgery much more precisely. The laser procedure causes less inflammation to the eye, so patients heal more quickly and experience improved visual acuity more quickly than with traditional cataract surgery.
